Concealed...

It is something deeper than sea,
But which no-one can see.
Something which I always feel, and
Which I think only time can heel.
It is a monster darker than the night,
With whom I find difficult to fight.

It is the silence of a lonely night.

A night when everyone I love is away,
When I feel the time has lost its way.
The time when I am alone & no-one is near,
These are the moments from which I fear.
A night when in thoughts I am lost,
I want to get the loved ones near whatever it costs.

But still one thing is with me tonight,
And will be with me always if I guess it right.
It is the silence of a lonely night.
